About Us

Captivated by Hong Kong in 1986, Boxing Dragon Artistic Director Annie Dowling has continued to wander the world in search of adventure and humanitarian causes. In a 20 year span she has settled refugees in Thai border camps as well as introduced fellow travelers to the charms and mysteries of Asia via her tour escort role for one of the world’s most respected tour operators. Most recently, Annie, a native of Maine, has spent considerable time on the Indian sub-continent as well as several months each year in China.

A fabulous reward springing from her explorations has been the awakening of a passion for Asian Art. From the refinement of the Indian miniature paintings to the jubilance of Chinese peasant primitives, the creative expressions of each country/region seems to evoke images and emotions which linger with the viewer.

After stunning her Maine visitors/friends with her yearly acquisitions, it is satisfying and exciting for her to be able to bring some of her favorite artists and styles to others through the creation of Boxing Dragons.

David and Susan Killebrew who share Annie’s love and pleasure in Asian Art are delighted to join her in this exciting endeavor as we thrill to the discovery of new artists and new images. Welcome to Boxing Dragons. We hope you will welcome one of our paintings into your home.
